How Do I Turn Off My VPN?

🔍 Quick answer:

To turn off your VPN, open your VPN app and click/tap the disconnect button. The VPN icon will disappear from your status bar. You can also disable VPN through your device's settings: on Windows, go to Settings → Network & Internet → VPN; on Mac, System Settings → VPN; on iPhone, Settings → General → VPN; on Android, Settings → Connections → VPN.

Windows

  1. Open VPN app → click Disconnect
  2. Or: Settings → Network & Internet → VPN → disconnect

Mac

  1. Click VPN icon in menu bar → Disconnect
  2. Or: System Settings → VPN → toggle off

iPhone / iPad

  1. Open VPN app → tap Disconnect
  2. Or: Settings → General → VPN → toggle off
  3. Or: Control Center → tap VPN button

Android

  1. Open VPN app → tap Disconnect
  2. Or: Settings → Connections → VPN → disconnect
  3. Or: Quick Settings → tap VPN button

💡 Pro tip: If your VPN automatically turns back on, you may have "Always-on VPN" (Android) or "Connect on Demand" (iPhone) enabled. Go to your VPN settings and disable these features if you want the VPN to stay off.
